Nova Idol

Come and make lots of noise this Friday at the Alexandria Campus of Nova. This is the second round of the competition and the judges will be swayed by the amounts of noise produced after the song. I'm a singin' "The Visit" by Loreena McKennitt. I'll be on at 7pm. :)

This is your ego.

This is your ego after meeting with the Sadh Sangat.

The other night after Cranio Sacral training I was so energized that I decided to come up with a song for NOVA Idol, www.novaidol.com, and ended up dressing up as a witch and dancing around the house singing Loreena McKennitt songs until 12am. Didn't get much sleep last night either...two more days of training....will it ever end?

Okay, the pictures are finally here:

This is the fabulous Darshan Kaur trying to escape her picture being taken.

Here is Savitri the creator of wonderful ceramic fountains, flowers and dishes.

The first day of White Tantric Yoga.

During the break.

And another break,

And another,

and one more...

My Thumb.

Who's watching who?

The lake. After thoroughly searching for aligators we were unable to find any. Apparently that does not necessarily mean they are not there, as many people have claimed to have seen them....to be continued...

A Goddess smudging the entire perimeter of the camp.

Spontaneous drum circle and dancers.

The bonfire.

Some of the folks around the fire.

Upon the return home, my first Christmas tree..and

My brother and Dad.

And I can't leave out Sylvan.

I missed a lot because the camera really wasn't on my mind most of the time. Every once in a while I remembered it was in my backpack and whipped it out. The last few days I was in such a happy daze that I forgot that I had it with me!

This week I am taking the first level of Craniosacral Therapy training from the Upledger Institute. It's 9-5 Thurs through Sunday. I love the technique and going more deeply into it is quite transformative. It's also great to receive so much free body work and meet other therapists in the area.

Peace

It's been a few days since White Tantric and I've decided to eat a cleansing diet accompanied by a meditation for 40 days to keep this wonderful clarity with me as long as possible and also to keep opening and growing.

Last year I decided to try and attend one White Tantric Yoga for each season. Of course there is Summer and Winter Solstice, and we host one here in the fall, so for the spring I was thinking of going to New York. It should be great. To find out more about it and see if there are any in your area: www.whitetantricyoga.com.

It seems that I am not the only one who is benefiting from this shift in consciousness. Everyone around me seems more friendly and happy. Maybe it's just all the junk I let go of, but I am very much enjoying the change.

I'm making a recipe from the Golden Temple Cook Book right now, it smells so yummy! Mung beans and mustard greens....yum. Oh yes, and more yogi tea. :)

The pictures are being developed and should be ready by Friday, I'm as anxious as you are to see what turns out..!

Love,

Devinder Kaur

return from florida

..And I must say it was so hard to leave! This Winter Solstice was the best one I've ever attended. When I first arrived, I stayed at the Green Gables Hotel in order to catch up on some sleep before I hit the camp. I arrived at the camp the next day around 12 and was greeted by some lovely folks who invited me to play a Guru Ram Das chant with them. Two guitars and my bouzouki, which was a great way to start off. This time around I stayed in a cabin with six other beautiful women instead of tenting. It was nice to have the bathroom so close and although at first I was apprehensive about sleeping in such close proximity to strangers, all of them became good friends by the end of our stay.

The weather was gorgeous, 75 degrees and mostly sunny. But the biggest treat of all was the three days of white tantric yoga. This time we only had three hour days, we were done by lunch and all of the mudras were relatively easy. It was very blissful to have the rest of the sunny beautiful days to meet and get to know all of the wonderful people who attended. Overall I felt like we all bonded very deeply with each other and although I really did not want our time together to be over, I will honor and cherish all of the old and new family members that I was blessed to meet until the next solstice.

I have a bunch of pictures that I took, but they are being developed. I will post them asap.

Winter Solstice

Before Winter Solstice 2006 :

After Winter Solstice 2006:

On Wednesday morning I will flying down to Florida for my second Winter Solstice. :) I'm looking forward to the mild weather, the lake, and the cozy cabins. Also, White Tantric Yoga will take place for three days. :) I think that is the best part.

This year I will be selling Malas (prayer beads made of different gem stones) in the bazaar along with Savitiri. She makes the most beautiful pottery dishes, wall hangings, and fountains. :) Hope to see you there.
